Playstation Tablet

The playstation tablet, nicknamed the “gamers Ipad”, isn’t really in existence, and there’s no conclusive rumors to show it exists. However, there are many supporting statements, facts, and legitimate rumors supported by inside sources and pictures that do indicate that sony is looking to compete with apple, as well as partner up with Google.

So if Sony has multiple partnerships with Google, and is rumored to be in development of Playstation Phone set to release in 2011, isn’t it likely that the Playstation Tablet is next?

There’s talk about a playstation portable 2 release and the rumor is that the playstation portable 2 is a seperate device from the playstation phone, and I believe it will be separate from a playstation tablet as well.

The reasoning is there are sources that say that the playstation phone is actually going to only contain the original PSP technology, even though the same sources say the PSP2 release is forthcoming.  This would seem to indicate that the playstation phone codenamed “zeus” will be upgraded to a later device much like the Apple Iphone 4G was released after 1, 2 and 3G phones.

I am a pretty uncertain how they will try to market 3 hand held devices, but I’m pretty sure that Sony will try to have the PSP2 compete with Nintendo DS while the Playstation Phone (Playstation Zeus) will be competing with Apple along with the eventual release of the Playstation Tablet.

Since there is so little known about the playstation tablet, you can pretty much only guess what it will be like or when it will be released. Being that Google is a very serious partner with Sony in Internet TV and the Playstation Phone is set to runAndroid 2.0 and soon 3.0, I would think that The playstation Tablet would contain Google Chrome, access to the playstation network, netflix, hulu, and others, and also have access and the ability to play playstation 2 quality games, and maybe playstation 3 quality games in the future.

The curious thing is what Sony will do being that both Apple and Microsoft (windows) have operating systems, but Sony and Google does not. Perhaps then the Sony Playstation Tablet would run on a free Linux Operating System, or instead could just ave “apps” the way an I-phone has with internet access through the Google Chrome and no real desktop or anything.

The only thing that’s difficult to imagine are the details of the Sony Playstation Tabletsuch as will it run playstation 1, playstation 2, or playstation 3 quality games?  What will it look like? Will it have buttons or be all touch pad? What will the specs of the Tablet be? The basics of it are pretty simple and the simple words “Gamers Ipad with Playstation Games” gives everyone a clear picture of the experience the playstation tablet will bring to the user.
